Fall!

My kids both slept past 8 a.m. this morning. I wish I could just relax and let that happen, but I'm the kind of person who wakes up and thinks, why aren't they awake yet? Are they okay? And then I stare at the ceiling, waiting for Aidan to come in or Taylor to start calling for me.
Once they were awake and we were all lying in the big bed together, I thought, This is fantastic. Tomorrow I'll sleep even later if this becomes a habit.

But it's fall. This is my favorite season by far, and we've had lots of fun, but it also means daylight savings is coming. Oh, no. That means that in eight days, it will be as bright as it was at 8 a.m., but at 7 a.m.! Does that mean my kids will sometimes sleep past the hour of 7 on a good day? Yes. Yes it does.

We deal with this problem every year. I always try to outsmart the time change, but it's hopeless. My kids will wake between 6 and 7 for a few weeks until the days become even shorter. Hopefully, once the sun comes up later, we'll return to normal. About 7:30 on those days we don't "have" to get up. But I still love fall. :)

haha, I found you in the blogging world :) I guess it wasn't that hard, I just clicked on your name!

Yes, Daylight Savings was last night for the UK. My sister-in-law, mother of 2 little girls, always dreads this time of year too! The kids wont appreciate it until they're adults, right?

And trusting a salon here? Not easy! A friend from church has pretty short hair and recommended the one she goes to. I was so nervous the entire time she was cutting (I've been cutting my own hair for the past couple years, so I'm always hesitant when someone else gets their hands on my locks!).
But I love it too...and now it's your turn :)

What a great picture of Aidan and Taylor in the leaves. Those kids are really growing up fast. Thanks for sending me the fall family pictures also. They are wonderful. That Taylor is really becoming a little man, isn't he? Alicia, your hair is beautiful. You are really cute with short hair, but much more beautiful with the long hair. I loved the family picture. Thank you immensely for all the time you take to do the blog and keep everyone updated since you have moved away. I reallly appreciate it and love you for it.

I actually look forward to daylight savings time. To me it give me one day where I can catch up on sleep because I get that extra hour. And because it takes a week for that extra hour to propogate down, I tend to sleep earlier and wake up earlier at least for the first week following DST.

Havent' seen you in a while, I hope you're getting settled in the house, and the pics look great.

Btw, my blog is here.

See ya! :-)
